In a pot, melt butter and stir fry the onions and minced garlic for 2 minutes
Add cut vegetables: carrot and celery. Add 1 tsp black pepper and 1 tsp salt. Continue frying for another 3-4 minutes
Add broth and bring to boil. Let it simmer over low heat for 45 minutes for all the vegetables to soften completely.
Add pumpkin and chili powder
Blend with an immersion blender until smooth and creamy (2-3 minutes). Add additional salt or black pepper according to taste.
Add heavy cream, mix well and bring to simmer.
