Air Fryer Roast Beef

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb Bottom Round steak or chuck roast
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 tsp beef base
  • 1/4 cup half and half
  • 1/4 cup red wine

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix the dry spices: black pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning
  • Bring the steak to room temperature. Pat dry. Rub oil and spices on all sides generously.
  • Insert the rack (if using one) into the air fryer and pre-heat it by air frying to 400 degrees F.
  • Put steak on the rack and air fry at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes. Turn the steak over and repeat for another 10 minutes. Check the internal temperature (expect about 120+ deg F). Continue for another 5-10 minutes if temperature is too low.
  • Turn off the air fryer and let the steak continue to cook in the air fryer for 20-30 minutes. Internal temperature should have increased to about 135-136 deg F.
  • Take steak out of the air fry and let it rest for 10 minutes before cutting.
  • Pour the juice out of the air fryer into a small pot over medium heat. Add flour and mix to cook the flour.
  • Mix beef base with hot water and add to the pot, stirring well. Add half and half and red wine and mix well. Bring it to boil.
  • Taste and adjust as necessary. Let the mixture reduce down to gravy consistency. Pour over sliced steak.
