Air Fryer Fish and Chips

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Bag of shoestring fries
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2/3 cup panko
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb. white fish fillets.

Instructions
 

  • In a shallow bowl, mix flour, onion powder and pepper. In another shallow bowl, whisk egg with water. In a third bowl, toss panko with cheese.
  • Sprinkle fish with salt; dip into flour mixture to coat both sides; shake off excess. Dip in egg mixture, then in panko mixture, patting to help coating adhere.
  • Place fish in a single layer on tray in air-fryer basket. Spray with canola oil spray.
  • Cook until fish is lightly browned and just beginning to flake easily with a fork, about 10 minutes @390 degrees F, turning halfway through cooking and spray with oil. Do not overcook. Fish temperature should be at least 165 degrees F.
  • Put shoestring fries to basket, spray with oil and air fry for 5 minutes. Add salt, shake basket and cook for another 5 minutes.
