Keema Sweet Potato and Peas Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb minced beef
  • 1 large sweet potato – diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 large carrot – diced
  • 1 onion – diced
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 2 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp thyme
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • tsp garam masala
  • cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Mix dry spices in a bowl: salt, black pepper, turmeric, chili powder, curry powder, ginger powder, paprika, thyme, cumin, garam masala.
  • In wok with oil, fry onions until color changes. Add garlic and continue frying.
  • Add carrots and ketchup and continue frying in medium heat.
  • Add the dry spice mixture and continue mixing.
  • Add the minced beef and mix to incorporate and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add the sweet potatoes and mix. Add the milk and mix well. Cover and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Add the peas and let it simmer covered for further 15 minutes or until the sweet potatoes become fork tender
