Korean Beef Bulgogi

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb beef chuck steak or carne picada – thin strips beef
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 pear or ½ Asian pear tenderizer substitutes pineapple, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 stalk leafy celery or spring onions
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbps sesame oil
  • ¼ cup red wine
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tbsp Sesame seeds garnish
  • 1/4 cup Spring onions garnish

Instructions
 

  • After the meat has been partially defrosted, slice it thinly into strips.
  • In a blender, blend the marinate: ½ onion, garlic, tenderizer, celery, brown sugar, black pepper, soy sauce, sesame oil, cooking wine, red pepper flakes, ground ginger.
  • Pour marinate on the beef and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  • Strain the marinated beef to separate the liquid from the solids.
  • In a pan at high heat, fry the other half onion (sliced) until translucent.
  • Add the beef and fry until cooked scooping out any excess liquids formed.
  • Garnish with some sesame seeds and spring onions (optional)
