Nyonya Chicken Tempra
This is one of my favorite dishes during childhood!
Ingredients
- 3-4 chicken thighs diced
- 1 onion sliced
- 2-3 fresh green or red chilies chopped
- 4 tbsp lime juice
- 4 tbsp Sweet Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tsp chicken bouillon
- 2 tsp corn starch + water
- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Stir fry onions and chili in wok with oil (about 3 minutes)
- Add chicken and fry for 5 minutes until the flesh turns white
- Add lime juice, sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce. Mix well
- Add vinegar and fish sauce. Simmer covered for 5-7 minutes.
- Add chicken bouillon and mix.
- Taste and adjust with salt or sugar.
- Add corn starch water and simmer until it thickens.
